Top Tips for NQ Cowboys v Brisbane Broncos

10/03/2020

It’s nearly game time and we do not want you to miss a moment of the action! Please take note of the following important information for Friday’s match!

1. PLAN YOUR TRIP

Whether it’s your first trip to Queensland Country Bank Stadium or your hundredth it’s important that you have your game plan ready and know what transport and parking options are available to you a head of time.

There is NO public parking available at the Stadium so to ensure you have the best possible game day we encourage you to consider alternatives to driving! Check the getting here page before you leave for the most up to date transport and parking information.

Walking – We strongly recommend patrons walk to the Stadium precinct. Walking allows you to bypass the traffic and avoid navigating the changed traffic conditions in place around the venue. The Stadium is a short walk from the CBD (approx.1.2km).

Patrons are able to walk via Lowths Bridge on Rooney Street, which is closed to traffic before, during and after the event. The new Reid Park Pedestrian Bridge providing access to Reid Park over the railway tracks and Little Fletcher Pedestrian Bridge providing access to Flinders Street are now open for easy access to and from the southern stadium entrance (nearest to Gate D/Gate E.

Free Event Buses - Leave the car at home and use one of the FREE event bus routes that drop off at the Townsville City Bus Hub (approx. 800m from the Stadium). The first buses will depart Kirwan and Belgian Gardens at 4.30pm - show your ticket to ride. Visit translink.com.au/Townsville for pick up/drop off locations.

Drop off, Taxi and Rideshare Zones – There is a Taxi Zone at Dean Street adjacent to Central Park and a Drop Off Zone (including Rideshare drop off) at Morey Street and Flinders Street (access via the Little Fletcher Street bridge).

Accessible transport options are available for those in need of them, please review the accessibility page.

Charter buses and privates coaches requiring parking please contact the venue team ASAP.

2. HAVE YOUR TICKET READY

We’re set to have a stellar crowd for the NQ Cowboys’ first home game in 2020 so in order to keep things moving we ask you to have your: hard copy tickets out; print at home tickets printed; or mobile tickets pre-loaded and ready to scan before presenting to your gate for entry.

If collecting your tickets from the venue the Gate A and Gate E box office will be open from 4.30pm

3. CHECK THE CONDITIONS

New home – new rules! Make sure you check out the conditions of entry for Queensland Country Bank Stadium paying particular attention to bag size limits (40cm x 40cm x 40cm), food and beverage allowances, as well as prohibited and restricted items.

If you do bring a prohibited or restricted item to the venue you will be asked to dispose of or cloak it prior to entering. Cloak rooms are located at Gate A and Gate E – this service is free.

All patrons will be subject to security checks, which may include wanding and searches – get in quicker by leaving your bag at home!

Patrons with illicit or dangerous items maybe refused entry and referred onto police.

Please review the full conditions of entry here!

4. ARRIVE EARLY AND KNOW YOUR GATE

Please allow yourself plenty of time to arrive and find your seat before kick-off at 7.05pm! Bars and food outlets will be open with gates at 5pm so come enjoy a drink and burger before the game.

It’s going to be a full house – so build in time for navigating the crowd pre and post-match!

5. KNOW YOUR WAY HOME

So you’ve got your drink and found your seat with time to spare - now what?!

While you’re enjoying the pre match entertainment why not take a moment to explore how you’re going to leave the Stadium and get home. Event day car parks (i.e. Reid Park, Lou Litster Car Park and the Showgrounds) all must be cleared following the game; and for those catching event buses these services conclude 60 minutes post match.

When existing the Stadium your closest gate might not put you where you want to be so take a look around before the full-time rush to understand what gate you’re aiming to get out of. Here’s a little cheat sheet to help:
